NEW CD "Going Nowhere" - "You Raise Me Up"
Bernie Clifton one of our most popular entertainers, famous for his Ostrich riding talents was wearing his 'Singing Hat' this time Bernie was featured singing, as himself, without Ostrich on BBC1 on Tuesday 18th October in the popular romantic comedy 'Love Soup', written by David Renwick, David famous for 'One Foot in the Grave' and 'Jonathan Creek', remembered that back in 1980, as an aspiring comedy writer he was involved in an A.T.V. special, 'Bernie Clifton on Stage' and was surprised by the quality of Bernie's voice on hearing him sing the Neil Sedaka song, 'Going Nowhere'. Whilst writing Episode 4 of 'Love Soup' David realised that the lyrics to 'Going Nowhere' fitted the plotline perfectly and who better to sing them ?... enter Clifton.
Bernie, currently presenting his own show on BBC Radio Sheffield, points out that the last record he was involved in went to No1 and stayed there for 7 weeks, although when pressed admits it was 'Amarillo', and he did have a little help from Tony Christie and Peter Kay.
The C.D. also brings out the dramatic range of Bernie's voice with the beautiful ballad, 'You Raise Me Up'
